We are currently seeking a
Human Resources Generalist
to join Kirtland Federal Credit Union.

Human Resources Generalist Overview: Responsible for providing human resource consultation with credit union management and staff in support of the Credit Union's operational human resources functions. Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of various human resource functions, including employee relations, compensation, performance management and recruiting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists SVP of Human Resources in developing short and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies.
Provides support and guidance to HR staff, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing.
Provides advice and interpretation regarding human resource guidelines and policies as they relate to individuals and to Credit Union objectives.
Administers and provides guidance to employees and managers on Family Medical Leave, Employment Laws, ADA, FLSA and other applicable employment laws.
Interprets and provides guidance to managers on handbook, policy and procedure.
Researches policy, procedure and all related regulation and laws.
Assists with updating policy and procedures.
Conducts policy/procedure trainings to staff and managers.
Counsels employees and managers with resolving complaints involving working conditions, harassment, disciplinary actions, etc. Recommends solutions according to Credit Union policies and procedures and applicable legal requirements.
Conducts exit interviews with separating employees to gain perspective on Credit Union policies and employment practices. Discuss exit interview findings with Management as necessary.
Assists SVP HR with performing various employee relations duties, including counseling employees and managers, promoting equal employment opportunities, implementing disability accommodations.
Participates and partners in the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Partners with managers and HR team to establish comprehensive job descriptions.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
Certification as PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP, SHRM SCP preferred.
Five to seven years of experience in Human Resources, with at least three of those years in a professional consultative role.
Demonstrated experience in full life cycle recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and performance management.
Demonstrated experience with interpreting policy and procedure.
Demonstrated experience conducting employee and manager training.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to be influential.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
Demonstrated ability to create policies and procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal and consultative skills.
