ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Major duties and responsibilities:

Participate in the Accounting Department's daily, weekly, monthly duties.
Includes preparing daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports (internal and external) for the Bank.
Assist in the analysis of financial statements.
Assist in the analysis & preparation of the Bank's regulatory reporting.
Back-up other accounting department functions as necessary.
Assist CFO and Treasurer as necessary

Qualifications:

College degree with accounting specialty.
2 years general bookkeeping experience, including experience in posting to and reconciling the general ledger and performing various reconciliations.

Knowledge and skills:

A combination of professional accounting knowledge or bank accounting knowledge desired.
Ability to maintain positive interactions with others.
Ability to work with peers in a friendly, courteous and businesslike manner.
Well-developed understanding of bank accounting and operations.
Excellent communication skills.
Well-developed analytical skills.
Ability to follow specific instructions.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to determine priorities.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional understanding of database programs and other financial accounting applications desirable.
